Murdock Vacation Rentals Gets Social

With the emergence, convergence and sheer eminence of social media and other open source and user driven review sites, businesses today need to be flexible, agile, ever-learning and in touch with the flow of communication swirling about them.

As a founder of Murdock Vacation Rentals I felt it was important to take the time necessary to setup business accounts with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Yelp just as a starting point.

The connectivity that occurs between websites, blogs, social media and other review sites is impressive, to say the least. All sources of information can be tied together, thereby enabling both individuals and businesses alike to clearly communicate a message to wider audience than through one platform alone.

Our intention in setting up profiles on these various sites is to keep past guests informed, to attract new guests and to provide useful information pertaining to the vacation rental industry locale in which we operate: Kapolei / Ko Olina, Hawaii.

Murdock Vacation Rentals, while a part of a massive multi-billion dollar industry, is considered a smaller niche business in that we only focus only on the vacation rental management market in Kapolei, Hawaii and the nearby areas of Ko Olina and Makakilo.

With a focus on family-friendly luxury properties we have attracted guests from all over the world to vacation in Hawaii. Through social media we are able to provide our followers and friends with quick updates, blog posts, specials, discounts, Hawaii travel news and other information about the expansion of our management services.

Future expansion plans include setting up a YouTube site where property videos will be posted along with videos featuring key island attractions. Guests will also be able to post favorite video clips from their vacation.

We also intend to encourage greater guest participation in social media by posting pictures from their stay in Hawaii to our Facebook page. Hawaii has so many amazing sites to see, foods to taste and activities to participate in. We are sure that our guest’s photos will highlight the endless possibilities that a vacation to Hawaii presents travelers.

So, what are you waiting for? Follow us on Twitter, Like us on Facebook, connect with us on LinkedIn and if you are a past guest, write a review on Yelp.
